Our site is perfectly situated to get to know some of the UK and Scotland's wildlife much better (indeed without even stepping off the site you will see all manner of bird life, red squirrels, rabbits, deer and, if you're up early and keep quiet, even some pine martens). We are in the Cairngorm National Park (see the Park's boundaries) and the site itself nestles in the Abernethy / Loch Garten RSPB reserve where you can keep up with the Ospreys (only a brief drive away or 20 minute walk along woodland paths).
Recently one of our guests thinks they may have spotted a Wildcat on site - and they caught it on nocturnal video!
A short 10 minute drive away, the Rothiemurchus Estate provides many opportunities for watching wildlife in its natural habitat. Or if you prefer even more information then just over 20mins in the car will bring you to the Highland Wildlife Park where the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland will inform and educate.
The Cairngorm Reindeer herd are also within easy striking distance - visit them, feed them or trek with them!
And don't forget that for the more outdoors minded / energetic of you, Aviemore centre and Rothiemurchus are within easy walking / cycling distance and there are often paths to keep you away from cars.
